Castle Bharraich lies on a promontory overlooking the Kyle of Tongue and is a great place to view the kyle and its causeway as well as the surrounding hills. It also give a pleasant view back across a small valley to the village of Tongue itself. The castle is a small and ancient building shaped from great hunks of local rock. On the 3rd July 2005 the spot provided this view of Ben Hope across the water, with the kyle shimmering in the sun and a south westerly breeze creating waves on the kyle.The moorland and Ben Hope beyond look particularly green and luscious in the bright sunlight, all too rare a sight as this view tends to be hampered by grey skies and mizzle!
