Cul Mor & Suilven from the shores of Loch Borralan. Photographer; Jason Bonniface.
Photo Description
Travelling along the A837 through upper Strath Oykel the change in scenary from east to west is striking. In the west the twin tops of the bulky Cul Mor stand proudly above the surrounding moors and the traveller is treated to a near end on view of Suilven showing off its improbably narrow spine against the western sky. The famous geological Moine Thrust is the reason for the change in character from east to west and it lies close to Loch Borralan where this photo was taken early in the morning in April. There is a warm, friendly hotel on the shores of Loch Borralan at Altnacealgach. Its always a welcome site travelling along this remote section of road.
