Across the Lairig Ghru from the north top of Ben Macdui. Photographer; Jason Bonniface.
Photo Description
A view from the north top of Ben Macdui on a very fine day in May, wide expanses of snow still lying in the gullies and corries. From left to right the hills are Cairn Toul, Angel’s Peak and Braeriach, with An Garbh Choire the deep corrie between Angel’s Peak and Braeriach. The deep cleft of the Lairig Ghru runs across the photo. Later I descended from Ben Macdui via the Coire Clach nan Taillear, just to the south of the summit, and crossed the Lairig Ghru en-route for An Garbh Choire and a spectacular and remote camping spot. The campsite, on the southern slopes of Braeriach above the Garbh Choire Bothy, provided a great view of the Falls of Dee dropping from the plateau above.
