A ski tourer arrives on Cairngorm, ascending from the west. Photographer; Jason Bonniface.
Photo Description
A ski tourer arrives on the summit of Cairngorm from the west climbing out of the mist during a February temperature inversion, only the highest summits are clear of the cloud. From left to right; Ben Macdui, Cairn Toul & Angels Peak (Sgor an Lochain Uaine). This photo was taken during a days skiing at Cairngorm Mountain where a short walk (or skin) up from the top of the Ptarmigan tow allows one to reach the summit of Cairngorm itself. After a few photos I skied down into Coire Raibeirt on the south side of Cairngorm before skinning back to the summit and away back to the pistes. See more photos of the stunning snow conditions here.
