Thurso Bay is situated on the north coast of Scotland. This picture is looking northeast towards the headland called Dunnet Head, the most northerly point on the mainland.
This particular day, the sea was like a mill pond which is in stark contrast to the majority of days when large waves crash on to these shores from the Pentland Firth.
