A strange area this one, eastern Sutherland is quite different to the north western area being much softer and less rugged and it runs into Easter Ross and the Inverness area almost imperceptibly give or take the odd firth and a bridge or two. For want of a better breakdown we’ve lumped eastern Sutherland together with coastal Moray and northern Aberdeenshire. We need to explore these areas further as we’re aware there are hidden gems but as they’re not upland areas this may take some time!
