Ben Hope from Hope. Photographer; Jason Bonniface.
Photo Description
A view south from the tiny hamlet of Hope along Loch Hope to Ben Hope, the most northerly Munro. Taken on a lovely early September afternoon during a period of settled weather. After taking this photo I drove south to the foot of Ben Hope planning to climb the hill via the grade 3 scramble Brown’s Ridge. Unfortunately the start of the scrambling was particularly sheltered and coincided with the midges coming out for the evening and I had to retreat, flapping wildly at the swarms of midges. The thought of being driven demented by midges on steep exposed ground isn’t too appealing! You can find more information about the scrambles (Brown’s Ridge & Petticoat Ridge) on the NW face of Ben Hope here.
