Foinaven’s long winding ridge with a covering of spring snow. Photographer; Jason Bonniface.
Photo Description
A view south east along Foinaven’s long winding ridge from the highest top Ganu Mor, Arkle on the right of the photo with the Ben More Assynt massif behind. Taken in late April the quantity of snow on the far north western tops was unusual for so late on and provided the opportunity for a ski along the ridge from Ceann Garbh in the north, over Ganu Mor, and south to the unnamed top at 869m where the outlying A’ Cheir Ghorm ridge joins the main ridge. After skiing back along the ridge to the summit of Ganu Mor I made a descent westwards down wide open snow slopes to around 750m before traversing away northwards off the hill, sun and wind burned. An amazing day on the hill.
