Photo Description
This Photograph was taken from the shores of the causeway that now crosses the Kyle of Tongue. In the 1970s, this new road replaced the previous ferry and road detour around the end of the loch. This view of the Kyle is looking southwest with the majestic Ben Loyal (765m) on the left and the lower slopes of Ben Hope (927m) on the right.
The day itself was a not unusual mix of sun and heavy showers, providing strong contrasts of sky, water and mountain. The location is very close to the village of Tongue which has several facilities for the tourist including shop, hotels and petrol station.
